Robert Sawyer is a veteran singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who recently returned to the streaming world with a string of singles. The songs represent his first new publicly released music in seven years. An architect by day, the California-based musician is also a veteran of the West Coast jam-band scene.
Over the years Robert Sawyer has handled guitar and other duties in a number of groups including Sawyer & Medina, The Desert Blues Band, The Robert Sawyer Group, and many more. He has connected with fans around the world thanks to the success of recent singles like “White Dresses” and “Monarch”. His sound pairs a classic Dead-era guitar-based psychedelic improvisational vibe with a modern indie aesthetic.
“High Tide” is a recent single from Robert Sawyer, released worldwide via all major streaming services on March 22, 2023. Jangly electric guitar chords open the track as the singer steps to the mic. Soon the beat drops on a laid-back organic groove. Live drums, guitar, bass, and violin paint a surreal scene. On the mic, Robert dreamily riffs on the title. He imagines the perfect coastal escape as he sings, “It’s high tide somewhere. I feel it in the air.”
